Currently Into: Mixing Patterns

Fall is almost upon us, people! Here in the 'Sip, it won't actually feel like fall for a good month or two, but that doesn't mean I'm not already breaking out my plaid/flannel collection. I wanted to do a post on one of my favorite ways to wear my plaids until the temperature drops, without dying of heat stroke. I think a classic black and white plaid shirt like this is a staple in anyone's closet, and honestly, what outfit isn't cute with a great pair of denim shorts?
(Similar shirts hereherehere)

One of the best ways to elevate an otherwise simple outfit is to mix in a different pattern or texture. I think plaid and leopard are a match made in heaven; something about the combination just gives me all the fall vibes. This leopard belt has been a go-to accessory of mine since I purchased it a couple of months ago. It’s so versatile! You can find leopard belts at so many retailers. The one I'm wearing is by Ralph Lauren, and I got it from Poshmark, but I love this one and this one which are both very similar!

When fall weather actually hits, you could easily wear this outfit with full on jeans and booties or mules. I love the pop of color these sandals give the outfit. Because this is an all neutral look, you could add any color shoes and it would look great - bright pink, metallic, mustard yellow (you all know how I feel about mustard),  or go full on neutral with black or brown! My exact shoes are sold out at Target, but you can achieve a similar look with this pair from Amazon. I'm also currently loving these metallic mules and these baby pink mules- both would be stunning with this easy going look (can you tell I'm obsessed with mules for fall?).

Are you excited for fall or sad to see summer go? Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little, but I am so excited for this season change. Probably wishful thinking though, because this is Mississippi, after all. Anyway, thanks for stopping by today! Have a happy Friday!
